My spring semester of my freshman year in college. I was very good in science and loved children so the decision was a very obvious and natural one.

Teacher or social worker
What do you love most about your job?
Watching the children and families grow and develop. Being entrusted by families to be a major resource for them.. thereby becoming like an uncle or grandfather

Spending time with my loved ones. Playing bass guitar and learning martial arts.
What is on your bucket list for 2021 personally?
Getting our new office up and running!
What encouragement would you like to give your patients in one sentence for 2021?
You can make it! Si se puede!
Dr. Sanborn
What was the final moment you realized you wanted to be a doctor?
During my Sophomore year I participated in a mission trip to Los Angeles. It was here that I first became aware of the great need and disparity that affects children throughout the United States. I felt personally called to assist in both the emotional and physical care of pediatric patients from that point forward.
What would be your 2nd occupation choice if you were not a doctor?
If I had not pursued a career in Pediatrics I would have highly considered a career as an elementary school teacher. I believe teachers & physicians share a parallel role of providing education to those they serve. Not to mention they both have the privileged opportunity to invest and partake in a families lives.
What do you love most about your job?
I love the opportunity to grow up with my patients and families! It is so special to be included in all of the milestone moments with a family. From birth, to starting school, to graduation we are allowed to grow and develop with our families.
What is your recreation of choice on weekends with your family?
Relaxing at the local parks with family and friends or going on bike rides with my kids.
What is on your bucket list for 2021 personally?
I can’t wait to reunite with extended family that we have been unable to see the past year.
What encouragement would you like to give your patients in one sentence for 2021?
Hang in there during these odd times! Have grace for yourself, snuggle your little ones and remember how blessed we have been this past year.
