Early Childhood Intervention (ECI)is a statewide program within the Texas Health and Human Services Commission for families with children birth up to age 3, with developmental delays, disabilities or certain medical diagnoses that may impact development. ECI services support families as they learn how to help their children grow and learn.

Texas Medicaid Information Special Needs: Having a special needs child can be demanding on any household. This information below will direct you to the correct services provided by the state and will guide you through the process of determining if you are eligible for nursing services in the home environment.
There are services available to parents of a special needs child in order to get nursing care in the home, please know we are summarizing these services below so that you can easily understand which option will be a possible route for your child’s care.
1) Texas Medicaid: This program is income-sensitive and if you make less than a certain income level then you are not eligible for in-home health nursing and/or hospital benefits. Contact your Medicaid representative for further information.
2) MDCP Program: This program is designed for Texan families that make OVER the income level to be eligible for Medicaid as shown above. However, there is an 8 year waiting list for parents to enroll in this program.
